Places That Grow,

Natalie Wadlington

Dallas Contemporary

For Natalie Wadlington’s solo exhibition at Dallas Contemporary, she presented a series of paintings depicting familiar characters, who come together in symbolic scenes that mirror humanity’s complex struggles in understanding and caring for Mother Earth. Inspired by the expansive and ever-changing sky in her home state of Texas, the paintings appoint the celestial sphere as the covert protagonist and are set at all times of day, from dusk to dawn.

I was hired by Dallas Contemporary to create a print publication for New York-based artist Natalie Wadlington's solo museum exhibition in Texas. My task was to design a 108-page book that showcased her artworks, installation images, and the story behind the artist and her vision. Throughout the project, I worked closely with the gallery, artist, and printers to ensure that everything was perfect, from the initial concept to the physical book.
